LIDOCAINE HYDROCHLORIDE INJECTION USP, 2%

PRODUCT OVERVIEW

Lidocaine Hydrochloride Injection USP is a prescription amide-type local anesthetic. It is indicated for producing local or regional anesthesia by infiltration techniques, peripheral nerve block, and accepted central neural techniques. This 2% presentation is supplied in a prefilled syringe for direct injection and professional use.

PRESENTATION

This package contains 10 individually cartoned, single-dose 5 mL Luer-Jet Luer-Lock prefilled syringes. Each syringe contains 2% lidocaine hydrochloride in 5 mL. Discard any unused portion.

ADMINISTRATION

Use only by clinicians experienced in the relevant anesthetic technique and management of dose-related toxicity and acute emergencies. Use the lowest effective concentration and dose. Aspirate before injection when appropriate to reduce the risk of unintended intravascular administration. Inspect the solution for particulate matter and discoloration before use. IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION

Contraindicated in patients with a known hypersensitivity to amide-type local anesthetics. Serious dose-related central nervous system and cardiovascular toxicity can occur. Resuscitative equipment, oxygen, emergency drugs, and trained personnel should be immediately available. Local anesthetics may cause methemoglobinemia; monitor susceptible patients and treat promptly if signs develop.

STORAGE

Store at 20 to 25°C (68 to 77°F), USP Controlled Room Temperature. Protect from light.
