50% Dextrose Injection, USP is a sterile, nonpyrogenic hypertonic dextrose solution for intravenous administration. It may be used to provide concentrated carbohydrate calories and, under appropriate clinical direction, for treatment of insulin-induced hypoglycemia. Each 50 mL Ansyr II unit-of-use single-dose syringe contains 25 g dextrose (0.5 g/mL), NDC 00409-7517-16, and includes a male luer-lock adapter. Administer intravenously according to the full prescribing information; concentrated dextrose should not be administered subcutaneously or intramuscularly. Inspect before use and use only if the medication and fluid path remain sterile, the cap is in place, and the package is intact.
